He was born September 11, 1921 in Ramsey, IL, to the late Albert R. and Edith Marie (Macrafic) Bafford. Chester was a graduate of Necedah High School, WI, and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII receiving the Purple Heart during combat in the Battle of the Bulge.

He married Sara E. West March 2, 1946, and was a United States Postal Carrier in New Palestine for 25 years, retiring in 1972. Chester was a licensed minister for United Pentecostal Church International, and a member of Calvary Tabernacle since 1940.

Chester is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sara E. Bafford; devoted sons, Jerry L. (Susan) and Phillip W. (Vickie) Bafford; brother, Donald W. (Bobbi) Bafford; sisters, Bernita Lancaster and Leila Kelley; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Beulah Ford and Veta Jinkins; and four brothers, Dale, John, Dellis and Harold Bafford, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Christian School.
