A memorial service for Oliver Charles "Ollie" Adamitz, 70, of Port Orford, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Bandon Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 1142 Jackson Ave. Robert Fairbanks will officiate. Cremation was held at Myrtle Crest Crematory in Coquille.

He was born July 13, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He died July 8, 2000, in Bandon.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1956. In 1952, he married Cressie Schultz in Watsonville, Calif.
He retired from Contel in Bakersfield, Calif. as a systems analyst and enjoyed traveling and seeing many parts of the country. With his wife, Cressie, he had visited the Port Orford area for nine years before moving there two years ago. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and loved time spent preaching the good news. He also enjoyed fishing and computers.

He is survived by his wife, Cressie Adamitz of Port Orford; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Monica Adamitz of Fresno, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Lea and David Naney of Burbank, Calif.; grandsons, Nicholas and Brian Adamitz of Fresno and Timothy Naney of Burbank; sisters, Elna Dow of Safety Harbor, Fla., Wanda Shafer of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Emily Taylor of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.
