Feb. 11, 1948 he had been hit by a train on the New York Central at the Petersburg, In. station.

He was 70 years, 11m, 15d. He was employed in the S.W. Little organization which owned the deep coal mine and the large store. Later they moved to Petersburg. He was a member of the Petersburg Presbyterian church in which he was an Elder. He had long been active in the Knights of Pythias Lodge and was well known throughout the county. The funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian church in Petersburg Saturday afternoon at 2:30 with pastor, Rev. Rudolph Hartman in charge. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 Saturday morning until the funeral hour when friends may call.
