Survivors include sons, William Gartz of Leavenworth, Kan., and Gary Gartz of Schertz, Texas; daughters, Muriel Hankes of Charles City; Leota Talley of Stillwater, Okla., and Maxine Whitty of Belmond; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Fred Gartz, her second husband George Hake, one daughter, one son, one infant son and eight brothers and sisters.
