ALMA DIXON, 87
Alma Emma Dixon, 87, of Hanover died Friday evening February 9, 1996 at the Ebenezer Covenant Home.
Alma was born June 27, 1908 in Rockford Township the daughter of George and Hulda Renz Peikert. She was baptized in August 1908 and confirmed in 1920 both at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.
On April 11, 1928 she was joined in Holy marriage to Robert Lloyd Dixon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Together Mr. and Mrs. Dixon operated a dairy farm near Hanover from 1928 -1973. God blessed their marriage with six children: Robert, Darlene, Maxine, Gloria, Janice and Walter. Alma lived on her farm until May 1, 1995 when she entered the Ebenezer Home.
Mrs. Dixon was a life member of St, Paul's Lutheran Church and belonged to its Ladies Aid and Bible Study Group. She also was a long time member of the Hanover Senior Citizens.
Survivor; husband - Robert L. Dixon; children - Robert E. "Buddy" (Darlene) Dixon of St. Michael, Maxine (Herman) Ladda of Hanover, Gloria J. (Weldon) Ebert of St. Michael, Janice E. Anselment of Mountain Home, Idaho, Walter "Butch" (Nealie) Dixon of Hanover, 20 grandchildren - Karen (Dehmer) Volbrecht, Kenneth Dehmer, Cindy (Ladda) Zimmerman, Mark Ladda, James Anselment, Carol (Anselment) Kober, Brenda (Anselment) Drewery, Bradley Ebert, Janell (Ebert) Melhorn, LeeAnn Ebert, Thomas Ebert, Mathew Dixon, Reese Dixon, Kathy Dixon, Diane Dixon, Melodie Dixon, Michele Dixon, Mary (Dixon) Lubinski and Mark Dixon: 17 great grandchildren, and a great, great granddaughter; brother - Harold Peikert of Rockford; sisters - Lydia Kiphuth of Buffalo, Elsie Hillstrom of Milaca, Olga Sipe of Hanover, Gertrude Shellum of Mound and Esther (Elford) Schmidt of Green Isle. Further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, by brothers; Walter, Emil and William; and by a sister Tillie Hayes; and by great grandsons Gary and Justin Eull.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 13, 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor Paul R. Settergren officiated and interment followed at the Hanover Village Cemetery.
Friends called at the Peterson Chapel at St. Michael - Albertville Funeral Home on Monday February 12 from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30.
Casket bearers were: Kenneth Dehmer, Mark Ladda, Mark Dixon, Bradley Ebert, Mathew and Reese Dixon and Thomas Ebert. James Anselment was an honorary casket bearer.
Linda Hersom was the service's organist and Jeanne Dixon was the soloist.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael - Alberville Funeral Home served the family.
