Obituary: Lillian Acheson
Mrs. Russell Acheson, the former Lillian Mary Levitta Hemphill, passed away in Centre Grey Hospital, Markdale, July 23rd, 1988 after several months illness.
Born March 14th, 1913 in Toronto, daughter of the late William and Florence Hemphill, she spent most of her life in Grey County after her marriage to Russell Acheson on September 21st, 1933. They retired to Dundalk several years ago.
Left to mourn are her husband, Russell, and family; Don, of Stroud; Geln of Dundalk; Marilyn McClelland, of Kimberley; George, of Etobicoke; and Marjorie McIntyre, of Priceville. Also survived by brothers Lorne, of Calgary, and Earl, of Peterborough, and by sister Dorothy Vankouwenberg, Florida. She was predeceased by brothers Jim and Hugh.
The body rested at the McMillan and Jack Funeral Home, Dundalk. The funeral was held July 25th in the Dundalk United Church, with the Rev. Norman Morton officiating. Mrs. Elvia Moore was the organist and she accompanied June Wilson and Mary McKechaie when the sang a duet.
The pallbearers were grandsons and granddaughters. Interment took place in the Bethel Cemetery.
Out-of-town guests were present from Toronto, Oakville, St. Catherines, and Peterborough as well as from Dundalk and surrounding areas.
