John Eric Turford
Born in Hamilton Ontario Canada the first child of three, Frances Rickards 1933-2011 & Diane Brown 1941-2011 of Winnifred & John Turford.
My "Uncle Jack" was one of the founding fathers of the first Scuba Diving clubs of British Columbia Canada in the mid 1950's He was the first Presient of the Sea Hellons Diving Club of New Westminster BC. (I was the last Presient from 1976 to 1980 when the club was disbanded due to the club house burning down) Jack moved up north to Burns Lake BC where he worked with the Dept. of Highways of BC until his retirement in 1999. He had a weak heart do to being born two months premature in 1931 when the sudden death by a traffic accident of his uncle Eric Wharton caused his mother to go into shock.
He passed away in Salmon Arm BC on Jan. 10th 2002 just a tad over one month before his 71st birthday.
He was cremated and his ashes were scattered over Burns Lake and along the B.C. Coast because of his love of the water and scuba diving.
