NATCHEZ - Services for Marilyn Marlene Archer, 65, of Vidalia, La., who died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson and the Rev. Lyle Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Archer was born April 6, 1939, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Chester and Hazel Lucille Ridgeway Mitchell.
She was a member of Community Chapel Church of God where she was active in the music program. Mrs. Archer was employed by John Dale Law Firm for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Archer is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Morgan Brittany Archer.
Survivors include her husband, Harold L. Archer of Vidalia; two sons, Mitchell (Jackie) L. Archer of Shreveport, La. and Marc (Tana) D. Archer of Vidalia; one daughter, Jennifer Jo (Jimmmy) Williams of Vidalia; grandchildren, Abby Archer, Alex Archer, Marcus Archer, Mallory Archer, Jimmy Ray Williams, and Jenny Jo Williams; one brother, Lowell (Ellen) Mitchell of Tonkawa, Okla.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dale Baysinger, Marcus D. Archer Jr., Bill Shaffer, Harley Loy, Lloyd Trisler and Herbert Cater.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex M. Archer and Jimmy Ray Williams.
