Tom Jones, the oldest of seven children, married Alice Mueller, the youngest of seven children December 26, 1942 At St Mary's Church, Carlyle, Illinois. They first made their home in the Carlyle area and had three children.
In 1950 the family moved to Waynesville, Missouri where their fourth child was born. Tom had a job with Missouri Vending at Fort Leonard for a number of years. He had his own business Plastic Sealing, and also worked as a hotel manager.
Tom was a fan of Big Band music from the time he was a teenager. As a young man he would take friends to Chicago and St. Louis to dance and hear the bands. He enjoyed collecting and listening to Big Band music throughout his lifetime.
Tom liked to fish and caught some "Big" ones along the way. He was quite the grocery shopper in his later years, shopping often and hunting for bargains. He became a good cook, having Sunday dinner ready when the family returned from church. He liked having a dog as a pet, and once tamed a chipmunk enough to be hand fed.
Tom died at age 73, due to lung cancer. He and Alice had celebrated 50 years of marriage in December with their children and grandchildren.
