Charles Lee Perkins, 67, of Collierville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Beech Bluff, TN on Saturday, June 18, 2011. He was born on July 28, 1943 to Willie Wroth and Ada Perkins of Fisherville, TN. He graduated from Collierville High School in 1961 and Memphis State University in 1970. A State Farm insurance agent for over 40 years in Collierville, he enjoyed giving back to the community and was an active member of the Collierville Kiwanis Club where he held various offices. He especially enjoyed participating in the yearly Christmas toy drive for local children. Mr. Perkins was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and a long time member of Fisherville Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and spending time on his farm restoring antique tractors. He leaves two sons, Dr. Charles Lee Perkins, II (Kristy) of Beech Bluff, TN and Chad Everett Perkins, Esq. (Stephanie) of Brentwood, TN; and four grandchildren, Lily Kate, Preston Everett, Leah Claire and unborn Charles Garrett. Mr. Perkins is also survived by brothers, Willie and Larry Perkins, and he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Perkins. Visitation will be held at Collierville Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 20. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at Bethany Christian Church in Eads, TN at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, it was his wish that donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
