Mr. Mitchell Marion "Mickey" Daughtry, age 56, passed away Monday at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon following a brief illness. The Bulloch County native graduated from Marvin Pittman High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was medically retired. Mr. Daughtry was a 1993 graduate of Georgia Southern University and had lived in Waynesboro for the past several years. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Daughtry.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Elaine Belin Daughtry of Waynesboro, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jodi Lynn and Willis May of Waynesboro, Jennifer Elaine Daughtry of Statesboro and Julie and Joseph Taylor of Waynesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Sarina Daughtry of Statesboro and Mitchell Daughtry, Jr. of Waynesboro. One sister, Carolyn Jenkins of Statesboro; two brothers, C.L. Daughtry, Jr. of Millen and Freddy Daughtry of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Warren Daughtry, Katelyn Daughtry, Breeanna Daughtry, and Joseph Allen Taylor, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Zellner officiating, assisted by Rev. Andrew Lee. Burial with full military honors will be in the church cemetery.

Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
