There is one small hill in Calvary Catholic Cemetery that is remarkably different than the rest of the cemetery grounds, which is mostly on flat land. This section has trees, whereas the rest of the cemetery is entirely devoid of nature, except for the perimeter outside the fencing. The oak trees here have grown wholesome and wild and provide shade on a hot summers day. The wild landscaping also hides the interred within it's own shroud of secrecy. The border on one side is a modern fence with townhouses on the other side. The ground is thick with oak tree debris; twigs, leaves, galls, acorns. At one time this section would of had a view of the entire Petaluma valley.

James Culligan is toward the crest of the hill.
