Roscoe Leaman Ammerman, son of the late Leaman and Lucy Hardin Ammerman, was born in this county on November 16, 1908, and peacefully departed this life at his home on Friday morning, November 3, 1950, after a few hours of illness, at the age of 41 years, 11 months and 24 days. He was united in marriage to Mildred Case on July 18, 1930, and to this union four children were born: Wilma, Lois, Harvey and Carol. He was a devoted member and regular attendant of Blanket Creek Baptist Church , an honest and industrious worker and a good farmer. He was of a very friendly disposition and was loved and admired by a host of friends.

Besides his devoted wife and children, he is survived by: a sister, Mrs. Clay Thomas; and four brothers, Archie Ammerman, Charles Ammerman and Kenzie Ammerman, all of near Falmouth, and Rev. Claude Ammerman of Troy, Alabama; a number of distant relatives; and a host of close friends.

Services were held Sunday afternoon at Falmouth Baptist Church, with Rev. Carl Sears, Rev. R. E. McElmurry and Rev. Kenneth Hays officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir, with Mrs. Albert Fisher at the organ console. Casket bearers were Jack Dickison, Robert Colvin, Wiley Buckley, Sam Rudicel, John Brown, James Kenner, Boyd Hart and Mark Haley. The flower bearers were Lillian Ammerman, Harold Thomas Ammerman, Henry Ammerman, Nowanna Blades, Charles D. Ammerman, Wanda Galloway, Betty Clifford, Della Hamilton, Jane Aulick, Thelma Wright, Jean Cordray, Ann Cummins, Faye Kenner, Joyce Kenner, John Colvin, Faye Snodgrass, Mary K. Ammerman, Vivian Snodgrass, Ada Ruth Sweet, Sue Sweet, Mrs. Everett Powell and Mrs. Charles E. Moore. The high esteem in which he was held in the county was attested by the overflowing crowd of friends who attended the last sad rites. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery. John A. Woodhead and Son were in charge of arrangements.
