Mexican Campaign (Vera Cruz) Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Seaman in the US Navy on board the USS FLORIDA. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Vera Cruz, Mexico on April 21, 1914. His citation reads "On board the USS FLORIDA Jarrett displayed extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 April 1914."
