He served his internship at Cincinnati General Hosp., now University Hosp., in 1944 and served his senior residency in the Army Medical Corps in 1945.
During his career, Dr. Dickens worked at General, Bethesda and Holmes hospitals, as well as several private clinics. He retired as the head of Bethesda's radiology dept. in 1991.
