Dora was the daughter of Steve Jackson Sr and Melgreen Bryant Jackson. She was a Graduate of Pearl Stevens High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was a Licensed Cosmetologist, receiving her License from the Macon Technical Institute. She and her Husband opened the Clarington Barber/Beauty Center in Warner Robins Georgia in 1972.
She was a member of Sandbed Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia where she served as First Lady at the time of her passing.
She was married to Reverend Floyd Clarington on December 1,1966.

6 Sisters: Annie Jean Davis, Windy Clayton, Lurlean McIntosh, Molly Ann Askew, Grace Grant and Shirley Ann Tucker.

Services were held Monday, August 6,2007 at 1pm in the Sanctuary of Sandbed Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia with Rev Oscar Ross officiating.
