Delores Mae Remington, age 70, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Joliet, IL, on December 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Josephine C. Papesh Fang.

Delores attended local schools in Joliet, IL and graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1958.

On December 17, 1966 she was united in marriage to Robert Remington Sr. in East Lansing, MI. From 1977 to 1984 Delores and her family lived in Hampshire, England. She enjoyed traveling back to England numerous times to visit with her many friends there. In 1984 her family moved to San Jose, CA where she worked for many years as an office manager for different companies including Arthur Anderson, Thermatrix and venture capitalists.

She was the past president of the Sheboygan County Crime Stoppers and the Garden Club of Raleigh, NC. Delores enjoyed spending time gardening, attending South High events, watching and feeding birds, and most of all spending time with her 4 grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Gummy." She loved sailing with her husband, Bob, over many years. Dee planned the annual family vacations which were always fun and adventure filled. She also took part in the Avon three day walk for breast cancer from San Jose, CA to San Francisco, CA. Delores was a faithful member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and a member of the Slovenian Women's Group.

Delores truly touched the hearts of all who met her and was a never ending source of hope and comfort. She will be forever remembered for her cheerful smile, her twinkling eyes, and her love for all living things.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Sr.; her daughter, Tamara (special friend Bob Wallace) Remington all of Sheboygan; her son, Robert (Monica) Remington Jr. of Sheboygan Falls; her grandchildren, Emily, Erika, Lucas and Sophia; her sister, Gloria Fang of Joliet, IL; her brother, Joseph "Skip" Fang of Burnsville, MN; and her nephew, Geoff (Mya) Fang of Phoenix, AZ. Delores is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

Her parents and many aunts and uncles preceded Delores in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Sheboygan with Rev. Glen Powers, officiating.

An except from an email that I received from Delores' daughter, Tamara, shortly after her passing:

"...Father Glenn spoke of my mother, and her devotion and the beautiful, joyous smile she lit the world up with wherever she went. He said she was one of the most devoted in the church and never missed a day of church. He said he always saw her "at her perch" which was "toward the back of the church, in the middle. Seated silently, and always so happy". He knew that she was such a beautiful spirit and soul, who touched the lives of all who met her. He knew that she saw the beauty in every living thing, no matter how small. He knew that she was an "angel on Earth". He felt that she enjoyed his "style of preaching". At the end of our meeting, he explained to us that he never does services on Mondays. He said that when he heard who the funeral was for on Monday, he said ABSOLUTELY he WOULD DO IT. He then looked up towards heaven and said that he would be frightened of what might happen if he didn't do it, and he smiled and we all laughed. What a wonderful person and priest, and no wonder he had a special place in Mom's heart."
