Obit for Dorothea Bittleson Curtis from Bonners Ferry ID Herald 4 Sep 1946
-Mrs. Elmer Curtis, 20, of Coeur d'Alene, was killed on Saturday evening about seven o'clock when the sedan driven by her husband collided with a truck driven by William Chamberlain of Moyie Springs on Highway No. 2 about five miles northeast of town.
The accident occurred on a straight stretch of highway and an investigation by State Patrolman Kenneth Curtis and Sheriff Roy Boehm indicated that both vehicles were traveling without lights at the time.
Both Curtis and Chamberlain were taken to the Boundary County hospital for treatment. Chamberlain was released on Sunday morning after treatment for cuts and bruises. Curtis, who had seven ribs fractured and other minor injuries, was taken to Coeur d'Alene by ambulance on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis had been married at Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday evening of last week and were returning from a short honeymoon trip to Glacier National Park.
Mrs. Curtis had resided in Coeur d'Alene all of her life and had attended the Northwest Nazarene college at Nampa. She was an active member of the Church of God where her marriage was performed.
Survivors are her husband, who is studying for the ministry, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Bittleston of Coeur d'Alene; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held in Coeur d'Alene yesterday afternoon with interment in Forest cemetery, Coeur d'Alene.
