|Sign marking the gravel-covered Mass Grave No. 1 at Picpus Cemetery. It holds the remains of 1000 people guillotined in that area of Paris between June and July of 1794, including Josse-François-Joseph Benaut. Better known victims at rest here are the poet Andre Chenier and the 16 Carmelite Martyrs of Compiègne.|
