Hi everyone. My great grandparents, Evan & Ann Sleeman(Howells) were from Mitchel Dean. They were married there. They went to U.S. in about 1845. First to Mississouri, then Utah and then to Calif. I would like info on the Mitchel Dean era and to know if we still have relatives there. Please contact me if you have any family history, or if you would just like to be in touch.

He was born in Wales around 1780-1800. He married Ann Hollis (Howells) around 1800/1820. She was born about 1783/1784. They had four children, George born 1820/1821 (in Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales), William born 1823? (christened Jan 6, 1823 at Mitcheldean, Gloucester, England), Margaret born 1823? (christened Aug 20, 1823 at Mitcheldean, Gloucester, England), and Evan (my 3rd great grandfather) born Aug 25, 1825 at Mitcheldean, Gloucester, England.
Evan married Ann Jones on Oct 25, 1846 at Flaxley Parish, Gloucester, England. He and his small family emigrated to Missouri between 1847 and 1851. Between 1851 and 1853, they moved to the Utah Territory. Some after 1861 and before 1877, Evan, Ann and their 7 children moved to California (mostly around Placer, Nevada,and Yuba counties
