Harry Johnson Foster was the son of Rueben Johnson and Margaret Elizabeth (Gentry) Foster. The Foster family moved to a farm in Union Township, Hendricks County, in 1865. Harry Johnson Foster was born on this farm in 1885 and lived there his entire life. He attended school in the one-room brick school, built in 1890, near Montclair, Indiana. He was a successful farmer and a good stock raiser, working at farming from the time he was 12 years old.
Harry Foster was a member of the Montclair Christian Church, a deacon and church officer until his death. Harry Foster married Flossie Novella Call of Pittsboro in Middle Township. Two children were born to them, Elloree (Foster) Northcott and Clyde Menifee Foster (deceased).

Harry J. Foster, lifelong resident of the Lizton community, died suddenly, Friday, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 81. He had lived his entire life on the farm where he was born. He was married to the former Flossie Call 64 years ago who survives. He was a member of the Montclair Christian Church and a charter member of the Farm Bureau.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon from the Gregory Funeral Home in Pittsboro with the Rev. Edgar Byrum officiating. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Elloree Foster Northcott, Speedway; two grandchildren, Mrs. Norvella Northcott Beck and Mrs. Nancy Northcott Weaver; a sister, Mrs. Ivy Tharp, Lizton; and five great-grandchildren.
