Lois Jean Ballenger, 71, died on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Stillwater, Okla. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Stillwater with Pastor John Lucas officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lois was born on Nov. 27, 1939 to Frank E. Opie and Ila Matteson Opie in Hamilton, Montana.
She graduated from Darby High School in 1958. She married David Ellsworth Ballenger on July 1, 1960 in Darby, Montana. Lois was a switchboard operator at the Stillwater Medical Center, and a member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David, who passed away in December 1978.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Ann Ballenger, of Broomfield, Colo.; son, Brook Ellsworth Ballenger, of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Janet Ballenger Yunk, of Valrico, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeremie Ballenger, age 26, David Yunk, age 24, Powell Yunk, age 14, and Preston Yunk, age 10; great-grandchildren, Brayden Lee Ballenger and Kyler Ballenger; and brother, Bruce Opie, of Billings, Mont.
