Mrs. Acosta, 91, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.
Dominga was born May 25, 1919 in Ruidosa, Texas; the daughter of Alejandro Porras and Josefa (Fuentes) Porras. She came to Artesia in 1940 from Mexico.
On Aug. 18, 1940 she was married to Manuel M. Acosta in Mexico. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2007.
She was a housewife and a christian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and four sisters. Survivors include daughter Mary Franco and husband Paul of Artesia; sons Manuel Acosta and wife Helen of Artesia, Epemino Acosta and wife Gloria of Roswell, N.M., Jesse Acosta and wife Emma of Artesia, Erminio Acosta of Roswell, Salvador Acosta and wife Lydia of Midland, Texas, and Mack Acosta of Artesia; brother Jesus Porras of Ojinaga, Mexico; sister Juliana Porras of Ft. Stockton, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-granchildren, and a great-great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
