He was born on February 11, 1955 at Parsons to Bob L. and Marilyn J. (Trammell) Divine. He grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons Schools graduating from Parsons High School from 1973.
Mike worked briefly at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant before working as a carpenter and painting contractor. He lived and worked in Parsons for most of his life with the exception of the brief time he worked in the Denver area.
He enjoyed fishing, watching golf, the Kansas City Chiefs, and social networking on Facebook with his friends. He attended the Foursquare Church in Parsons.
Mike's survivors include his parents, Bob and Marilyn Divine of Parsons; two brothers, Terry Divine, and his wife, Rhonda of Overland Park and Darin Divine, and his wife, D'Aun of Kyle, TX; one sister, Kelley Stover, and her husband, Troy of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and seven aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 Wednesday evening. Memorials are suggested to the Parsons Foursquare Church or to Operation Bright Touch and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 112 N. 26th St., P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
