Obituary: Jonathan Ray was born in the state of Pennsylvania, June 6, 1819, and died at his home on Soldier creek, February 25, 1886. age 66 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Mr. Ray was married to Miss Sarah Merryman, November 7, 1839, in the state of Ohio, his wife died October 10, 1867. He was married September 7, 1871, in the state of Indiana to Martha A. Plummer, his now bereaved widow.
Mr. Ray came to Kansas in 1865 and located in this county, on South Cedar, where he remained several years, thence to Nebraska, where he lived for six months, then he came and brought the farm on Soldier creek, where he has lived for several years. Mr. Ray united with the U. B. church.
His funeral took place at the Olive Hill church.
