Mrs. Maxine Jane Knox, 83, of Lexington, KY and formerly of Madisonville, KY, died at 10:10 A.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at North Point Health Care in Lexington.

Born April 29, 1920 in Hopkins Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Amon Morris and Sybil Cobb Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John B. Knox, Sr on June 2, 1961.

Mrs. Knox was a member of the Southland Christian Church of Lexington. She was retired from the U.K. Medical Center Pediatric Ward and the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children and waa a frequent volunteer for the U.K. Medical Center Emergency Room and Reach to Recovery.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ann Hehl of Lexington; one son, John B. Knox Jr. of Yorktown, VA; two brothers, Richard Morris and Bethel Morris, both of Dawson Springs, KY; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Knox and three grandchildren, Lacey Min Hehl, Lindsey Michelle Knox and Kelly Marie Knox.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 2, 2004, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Bill Adcock officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
