Obituary:
Service director for Lloyd McKee Motors, Robert Guyles McPhail was known as "Bob" to his many Albuquerque NM friends. Mr. McPhail, 54, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a short illness and operation with his heart.
He served as a marine sergeant #A247635 in World War II and was stationed overseas in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion Henry H. Graves Post #1 and 40 et8, both of Jackson, Miss.
He was also on the board of directors of the Technical Vocational Institute. Born in Prentiss, Miss., he had lived in Albuquerque for 20 years and the home was at 1701 Utah NE.
Surviving include his loving wife of 6 years Johnnie Lucille Styllie, a son, Robert W. McPhail,Sr., of Jackson, Miss.; three daughters, Miss Jeri Dean McPhail, Roberta Mounday and Mrs. Rochella Tonne, all of Albuquerque, and an older brother, Douglas Buford McPhail of Jackson, Miss., and three grandchildren, Robert W. Jr., Charles W. and Vicki A. McPhail.
Preceding his death was a niece, Norma Jean McPhail of Jackson, Miss.,his parents, Major Robert and Letha Seneth Polk McPhail of Prentiss, Miss.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Strong-Thorne Chapel and burial at Fairview Memorial Park with the Rev. Fulton Moore officiating.
