Marian Crawford Anderson passed away at 2:15 p.m. on August 23, 2001 at University of Utah Medical Center.

Marian was born January 24, 1927 in Provo, Utah and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Junior D. Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple on August 28, 1952, and resided all of her married life in Bountiful, Utah.

Marian graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Journalism in 1949. While there she won numerous writing awards and competitions, as well as serving as Associate Editor of the "Wye" literary magazine and Associate Editor of "Lamba Delta Sigma" fraternity newspaper.

After graduation, she wrote for the magazine section of the "Deseret News," and poetry and stories for other publications, such as the "Improvement Era." She was a long-time member of the Utah State Poetry Society and had many poems published in the "Davis County Clipper" through the years.

Her greatest passions, along with writing, were: books, flowers-gardening, traveling-both on this continent and overseas, dancing with her husband, art, and especially her children and grandchildren. She loved education, constantly wanting to learn and try new things.

Marian is survived by her husband Junior D. Anderson the three daughters: Marjorie Lynn Freund of Burlington, Kansas; Nancy Amorette Kohl (Douglas) of Weaverville, California; and Wendy Christine Blackburn (Michael) of Bountiful, Utah. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren: Arthur, Eric, Brian, Jason, and Jeanette Freund of Kansas; Marie Hazlett (Tyson) of Missouri; Alan Kohl of California; and Maranda, Brent, and April Blackburn of Utah. Preceded in death by grandson Jeremy Blackburn.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful Twenty-Sixth and Fifty-Eighth Ward Chapel at 200 North 200 West. Due to street construction on Second West, enter on 300 West from 4th North. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main Street in Bountiful on Monday, August 27, 2001 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at the Ward Chapel from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment at Bountiful Memorial Park Cemetery.
