She was born December 19, 1933 in Somerset, a daughter of the late Supreme Court Justice C. Homer Niekirk and Opal Denney Neikirk. She was the State Supreme Court Secretary and was also a teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Milton "Pete" Gill, whom she married August 27, 1955; a son, Joe Gill of Frankfort; a daughter, Margaret Ellen Funk of Georgetown; a sister, Margaret Blaine (and Walter) Strange of Hermitage, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Sarah Dean of Frankfort, Laura Bailey of Georgetown, and Brandon Gill of Sacramento, California; and one great-grandchild, Corey Dean.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Kent officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
