Grove, Okla. - Maxine Lewis, 76, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., May 26, 2004 at Dodge Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Carper officiating. Burial will follow at Sloan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tues., at Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.
Maxine Lewis was born on March 27, 1928 in Dodge, Okla. to Arthur and Anna Lee (Prater) Wilson. She married Lon L. Lewis on Jan. 14, 1946. Maxine worked as a cook at Benton Elementary in Benton, Kan. for twenty-five years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of Dodge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lon L. Lewis of Dodge; one son, Lloyd L. Lewis of Dodge; one daughter, Kathryn N. Barnett of Dodge; grandchildren, Dale Barnett, LeeAnn Barnett, Shawna Gladden, Ladonna Fink, and Shayna Lewis; great grandchildren, Savannah, Tommy, Anna Lee, Wesley, Cody, Bryan, Amy, Jake, Jesse, Sarah and Johnathan. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Melvin, Lloyd, Buck and Bobby; one sister, Mildred Raymond; one daughter, Donna Lewis and one grandson, David Barnett.
