MACK H. SEXTON

Mack Henry Sexton, 68, 1012 Irvin St., died Monday (Oct. 26, 1992) at the hospital.

Services are pending with West Funeral Home.

Mr. Sexton was born May 21, 1924, in Crumpler, W.Va., where he was raised and educated. On Dec. 5, 1942,he married Cora Ethel Walker in Princeton, W.Va.

In 1943, he entered the Navy for three years, serving on a P.T. boat in the Pacific Ocean, where he received wounds in action. Upon his discharge, he was employed by the Virginia Railroad Co. in Princeton, W.Va.

The Sextons moved to Carlsbad in 1963, where Mr. Sexton worked at Southwest Potash, now AMAX, until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of DAV Chapter No. 30, VFW and Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Sexton of Carlsbad; two sons, Davis Lee Sexton of Joppa, Md., and Robert Craig Sexton of Carlsbad; one daughter, Billie Merchel of Baltimore; two brothers, William Donald Sexton of Carlsbad and Winfield Sexton of Princeton, W.Va.; three sisters, Thelma Workman of Minneapolis, Estella "Ted" McCarty of Roanoke, Va. and Anna Mae Meadow of Carlsbad; and 10 grandchildren.

Services for Mack Henry "Rocky" Sexton will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the West Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. D. Michael Lee of Victory Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Reynaldo Lopez, David Hughes, Mike Abe, Tom White, Tony Alston, Claude Estes, Shawn Armendarez and William McCawley.
