The last rites were held Friday afternoon at the Baptist church for Mrs Katie Brownen, 77, who died suddenly Wednesday night of a heart attack in Tuttle, in the home of her daughter, Mrs Roy Bailey. A.L. Busbee officiated, with C.L. Taylor assisting. Mrs Brownen had lived in the Tuttle community about 30 years. A mixed choir sang "Near to The Hear of God", "Farther Along", & "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". Pallbearers were: Kenneth Boyer, Joe Hartin, Virgil Gannaway, Jim H. George, E.C. Holland, & R.B. Steve. Survivors are 1 daughter, Mrs Roy Bailey of Tuttle, 5 sons, Harvey of Gracemont, Walter, Russell, & C.O. of Oklahoma City, & Jesse of Los Angeles, Calif, 1 sister, Mrs Fannie Bevels of Ada, and 1 brother, Walter Parnell of Sulphur. Interment was in the Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of the Sowers funeral home.
