Son of the late Ploomer Seymour "P.S." Hand and Susan "Susie" Ann Gibbs, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Hand. He was a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of Tifton Masonic Lodge #47 and a member of Hasan Shrine Temple. He was a building contractor. He was survived by his wife, Joyce D. Turner Hand; two sons, Thomas Harold Hand, Jr. (Nikki) and Phil Turner; three daughters, Phyllis Ann Cason, Kathy Sue Kelley (Tom) and Lynn Osborne (Keith); a brother, W.D. Hand; a sister, Ruby Lee Hand Blanchett; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives. His funeral was officiated by The Rev. Terrell Roberts.
