Christina Catharina Oberender was born to Johann Nicholaus Oberender and Anna Margaretha Vollrath Oberender on 2 March 1842 in Jeddo, Pennsylvania. However, this date is now in question, considering the marker found and photographed by Jenn O. Thank you, Jenn, for this wonderful photo! The marker indicates that Christina was born in 1844.

Christina married Justus William Boettner, and one of their children was Louise Augusta Boettner, my husband's grandmother.

The older photo of her was taken in Haddon Heights, NJ, at the home of her daughter, Louise Boettner Smith, in July 1921.

She died on October 13, 1921, and was buried in the same cemetery as her husband, though I am not sure it is in the same plot. Again, the small marker may indicate that she is, in fact, buried with her husband and family.

My heartfelt thanks to both SSBJ and Judy Miller for their wonderful work on the torn fragment of a photo that was all I had of my husband's great grandmother, except for the very dark photo taken in her last few months of life.
