Griffin Ray Higginbotham came to Texas with his parents when he was eight years old, and the family settled in Erath County. He lived for 12 years at Megargel, where his children attended school. He moved to Hermleigh in 1931.
Survived by his wife; two sons - Alfred Higginbotham and Joe Hall Higginbotham; three daughters - Mrs. Leon Andress, Mrs. V.A. Cross, and Mrs. Sam Head; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
