TANCU - Mr. Gheorghe (George) Tancu of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Bow Crest Nursing Home on Saturday, November 1, 1997 at the age of 92 years. George was born on June 16, 1905 in Kishinew. He held a M.Sc. in Finance and a Ph.D. in Law. He resided in Kishinew, Bucharest, and Calgary. George is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Ana; his loving daughter Elena Tzanco; two nephews, Alex Betiu and his wife Ellen along with their daughters, Christina and Andreea, and Michael Betiu all of Calgary. Also numerous other relatives and friends in France and the U.S. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers on Monday, November 3, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. at LEYDEN'S Chapel of Remembrance, 17 Avenue and 2 Street. Rev. Michael Lupus officiating. Funeral Services to be held Tuesday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church, 4727 - 17 Avenue N.W.
