Orel Baierl, age 89, of Woodville, Wis., formerly of Wilson, Wis. died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at Park View Home, Woodville.
Orel was born Feb. 25, 1917 near Boyceville, Wis.. She attended school at Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1935. On April 18, 1940 Orel married Lawrence Baierl at Hammond, Wisconsin.
Lawrence and Orel farmed at Wilson for about 10 years before moving to New Richmond. They farmed at New Richmond until retiring in 1972 when they returned to Wilson. After retirement they became avid antique collectors.
Orel enjoyed a good card party, playing bingo and attending auctions. She and Lawrence loved the auctions and found many treasures to add to their antique collection. She had been Grand Champion at the St. Croix County Fair for her antique entries. Orel was also known for her doll collection that grew to over 300 dolls. Thank you to Park View Home of Woodville and the staff that gave such wonderful care to Orel for the past year.
Preceding her in death were: her parents, Frank and Anne Meredith; her sister, Alice Paul; nephew, Gordon Schuller; and husband, Lawrence who died in June 2001.
She is survived by: nieces, nephews, and good friends Nola and Vern Johnson; Don and Mariana Johnson and their families.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley on Monday, October 30, 2006 from 2-2:30 p.m. prior to traveling to St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery for a graveside service at 3 p.m. p.m. Rev. Leslie Johnson will officiate.
