| [Add A Photo] | |  | From Volume 1 (1909) of "Herringshaw's National Library of American Biography", compiled and edited by Thomas William Herringshaw. Baldwin enlisted for the Civil War as a Private in company E, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry. He was wounded at both Battles of Bull Run and later commissioned as a Captain and promoted to commander of his company. He was captured at Gettysburg and imprisoned at Libby, Charleston and Columbia.
