U.S. Congressman. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a member of the wealthy Day family. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati, he entered the family business as a printer and engraver and later became editor and proprietor of the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1849. He also engaged in literary pursuits. Elected as an Opposition Party member to represent Ohio's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1855 to 1857. He declined to become a candidate for renomination in 1856 because of ill health. He died in Cincinnati in 1869 when he was 50 years old. The T. C. Day Technical Library at the University of Cincinnati is named for him.
