Mrs Pearl Gaines Mims, 100, formerly of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in Fairfax, VA. She was born January 28, 1907 in Athens, GA, daughter of James and Bessie Gaines. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Mims and 11 siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Aileen (Colonel Calvin) Swartz of Fairfax; her son, Alvin (Annie) Mims of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church. Pastor J D Johnson will officiate; Reverend Kerry Francis, eulogist. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery.
