Brenda Lee Anderson, 53, of Omaha, formerly of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Alegent Hospice House in Omaha after a courageous fight with lymphoma. Brenda was born February 12, 1958 at Holton, the daughter of Ralph Eugene and Theresa Mary Pappan Anderson. She was a 1976 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and earned a B.A. degree from Bellevue University , Bellevue, NE.. She was medically retired from the Union Pacific Rail Road in Omaha where she worked as the manager of dispatchers and had formerly worked as a dispatcher for the Missouri Pacific Rail Road in Atchison. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomie Nation in Mayetta. She was an avid quilter and a member of a quilting club in Omaha. Brenda is survived by her mother, Theresa M. Anderson, Oskaloosa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Anderson, in 1993 and her brother, Michael L. Anderson in 2008. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alegent Hospice House, 7415 Cedar St., Omaha, NE., 68144 and sent in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, KS. 66066.
