An extenstion cord connected to a space heater may have been the cause of a fire that caused the deaths of Bryce Schendel, 26, Ayden Best, 5, Jace D. Best, 4, and Zoey S. Schendel, born just five months ago.
The childrens' mother, Ashley Schendel and 10 yr old sister, Alexis Best were able to escape. They were taken to the hospital.

Zoey Sterling Schendel, age four months, of Richmond, Kansas, died Monday, April 25, 2011. She was born on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, in Olathe, Kansas. She was the daughter of Bryce Sterling and Ashley Loree (Kirkland) Schendel.
Zoey was always smiling, and thought it was so much fun chewing on her toes and sleeping on daddy. She is now resting-in- peace in her daddy's loving arms.
