Briley Marie Compton, age 17, of the 300 block of Pinecrest Drive passed away on Friday April 22, 2011. She was a native of Portsmouth and was a student at Wilson High School.

She is survived by her parents, Amy N. and Jerry Zakowski; Brian and Patricia Compton; five sisters, Hannah, Jessica, Jordan, Victoria and Vivian; three brothers, Corey, Noah and Joe; maternal grandparents, Mason and Juanita Riggins; maternal great grandmother Margaret Tyndale; paternal grandparents, Larry and Barbara Compton; four uncles, Mike Nolan and his wife Libby, Paul Nolan and his wife April, Kevin Compton and his wife Tori and Paul Compton, plus numerous cousins and a very special friend Greg Cox.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM Wednesday April 27 at Pinecrest Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel is serving the family.

Briley was a free spirited delight to those who knew her. She brought joy and laughter to our hearts. We will cherish her smile and our memories all the days of our lives. In lieu of flowers please do something special with your children.
