22 Jan 1949, Zanesville Signal. McNaughten, Mrs. Bertha, 71 of Byersille, Jan 22. Mrs. Bertha McNaughten, 71, died today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Faye Little of Byesville, following a lingering illness from a heart ailment. She had resided in Zanesville all of her life until she went to make her hom with her daughter in Byesville a year ago. Mrs. McNaughten was the widow of John C. McNaughten, who died in 1936. She was a member of Central Trinity Methodist church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Little of Bysersville, Mrs. Louise Denning of 913 Turner st., Mrs. Ruth Smith of Pleasant Grove road, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark of Licking View, Route 3, and Mrs. Bessie Kokensparger of Cleveland. The body has been removed to the Dean-Swope funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home with Rev. L. A. Schreiber of the Central Trinity Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood.
