Luther R. Hockenberry, 73, of 123 W. Poplar St., Grove City, died at 9:40 a.m. yesterday at his home, after a year's illness.

Born in Butler County, Jan. 12, 1910, he was the sone of Miles and Catherine Hemphill Hockenberry. He had lived in Grove City since 1955.

Mr. Hockenberry retired in 1971 as a welder from ITT Reanor of Mercer, with over 19 years service.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Prospect, and F & AM Lodge 603, Grove City.

He married Frances Heasley on June 8, 1954. She died Sept. 21, 1982.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Diane Riddle of Grove City; a son, Richard C. Hockenberry of Grove City; a stepbrother, Harry Shields of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends of Luter R. Hockenberry of 123 W. Poplar St., Grove City, who died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1983, will be received at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday from the funeral home. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
