HARDCASTLE – Rev. George W., Sr., born December 20, 1896, passed away on October 26, 1994. He was married to Edna Stanton Willis on June 26, 1917. They had been married 72 years when she pre-deceased him on August 20, 1989. Rev. Hardcastle enjoyed many years of fruitful ministry which included serving as Non-resident Executive of the Gulf State Areas of the Assemblies of God International. He also served as the State District Superintendent for Oklahoma and Arkansas Assemblies of God churches and Secretary/Treasurer of the Arkansas/Louisiana District. Rev. Hardcastle loved working with young people and served on the Boards for Central Bible Institute and Evangel College in Springfield, MO and Southwestern Bible College located in Waxahachie, TX. He also served 50 years as a nation board member for the Hillcrest Children's Home in Hot Springs, AR, where a girl's dorm is named in honor of Rev. and Mrs. Hardcastle. As a pioneer in the Assemblies of God, he established churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas and California. He pastored in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, California and Washington state. He was a noted speaker throughout the United States and foreign countries. He is survived by: 2 daughters, Margaretta Chism of Victorville, CA and Imogene Cobb of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons, Rev. G. W. Hardcastle II of Sacramento, CA and Bob Hardcastle of Tulsa, OK; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Service Saturday, October 29, 3 p.m. at New Life Center. Graveside service Sunday, October 30, 3 p.m. at Pollard Cemetery, Dover, AR. Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 663-2233
