Harriet was the daughter of Dillon Robert Hill and Cora Elizabeth Stewart Hill. She was the granddaughter of Joseph Howard Stewart - considered the father of the commercial orchard industry in the Rogue River Valley in Southern Oregon - and his wife Elizabeth Hyman Stewart.

THE FUNERAL will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene for Harriet J. Lowe of Eugene, who died July 2 of age-related causes. She was 99. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the service.

SHE WAS BORN Nov. 30, 1908, in Medford to Dillon and Cora Stewart Hill. She married George Lowe on Aug. 30, 1930, in Medford.

SHE ATTENDED schools in the Rogue Valley and received a teaching certificate from Southern Oregon State University. She was a grade school teacher and later a homemaker.

SURVIVORS include a son, David of Veneta; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1975.
