Carolyn Rose Allen, 73, Huntington, IN died at Parkview Huntington Hospital on May 7, 2009 (3:30 PM).

Mrs. Allen was born June 28, 1935 in Huntington Township to Emil and Ruth Teusch Kimmel. Her parents preceded her in death.

Carolyn married Robert L. Allen. Her husband survives in Huntington. Mrs. Allen graduated from Huntington High School in 1954.

Mrs. Allen served as head cashier for Indiana Gas Co. During her lifetime she served as a secretary at Huntington Catholic High School, Our Sunday Visitor, Huntington College and SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a Fifty year plus member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority where she was a past International Officer/Editor.

Survivors include: her husband, Robert L. Allen. One son: Mr. David (Kelli) Allen, Huntington, IN Two daughters: Mrs. Barbara (Kevin) Rupley, Huntington, IN and Mrs. Janice (Harold) Walls, South Port, OH. One brother: Mr. Donald (Sharyon) Kimmel, Huntington, IN. One sister: Mrs. Patricia (Robert) Pollock, Huntington, IN. 10 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Amanda Allen (August 6, 2005).

Viewing will be from 4-8:00 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2009 with the recitation of the rosary at 6:00 PM, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority will hold a memorial service at 6:30 PM both at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN. Additional calling will be on Monday, May 11, 2009 from 9-10:00 AM at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, IN 46750

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 10:00 AM at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
