Winifred Zoila Smith Anderson of West Chester
Winifred Zoila Smith Anderson, 85, of West Chester, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2011.
Born January 15, 1926 in Somerset, Bermuda, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gordon and Rebecca Lenora Philpott Smith.
She was educated in Bermuda and in 1952 she relocated to West Chester. She was a former member of Second Presbyterian Church and Rice's Temple A.U.M.P. Church of West Chester. Zoila was a current member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship of West Chester. Zoila retired from Wyeth-Ayers Laboratories of West Chester after 22 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Betty Ann Fagan of Southfield, Mich. and Donna Marie Patrick of West Hartford, Conn.; son, Walter E. Anderson of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; one granddaughter in-law; several great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Heyliger of Somerset, Bermuda; two brothers, Osrola Smith and Rupert Smith, both of Somerset, Bermuda and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sons, Arthur G. Anderson and Richard S. Anderson; step-son, Joseph Anderson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 426 West Gay Street, West Chester. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Interment, Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer
Donations can be made in Zoila's memory to Cornerstone, "Outreach Bible Study" (OBS). Uplifting Life Services are being arranged by the DeBaptiste Funeral Homes Inc. of West Chester and Bryn Mawr.
