Obituary of Azalene Allen
Born: circa 1913 ~ April 11, 2011

Azalene Allen, 98, of Long Beach passed away April 11, 2011.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Allen; two sons, Marvin and Dexter Allen; and daughter, Lois Allen Long.

Survivors include her six daughters, Lucille Brynan of Pennsylvania, Sadie Nelson of Gulfport, Delia Block of Florida, Barbara Shook of Gulfport, Carol Ladner of Pass Christian, and Ginger Norton of Long Beach; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many other Relatives and Friends.

She was a loving mother to her nine children, and a friend to many on the Coast. Never with Idle Hands, she loved the beach and fishing. She also knitted the cast nets for fisherman; and made hundreds of quilts; enjoyed crochet, knitting, baking, and cooking. She enjoyed the Senior Citizens Center in Long Beach for many years.

She was a member of Long Beach Presbyterian Church and for the last 30 years she was a member of the Long Beach Church of Christ.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Riemann Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Allen's name to the Long Beach Senior Citizens Center, 20257 Daugherty Road, Long Beach, MS 39560.
